Certainly Great, Not Very White Though: Summer Series of Vancouver

Anyone want a photo series of Vancouver, British Columbia? Well, y'all are getting one nevertheless.

The Raven and the First Men was sculpted from Yellow cedar by the famous Bill Reid.
It depicts the native Haida legend of Raven meeting the first men after the great flood.
They were cowering in a bivalve, and Raven coxed them out to see the clean, new world.
This carving is a featured piece in the University of British Columbia's Museum of Anthropology.

This is the rock outside the university's museum. It is only right that I show it in respect
for the establishment and Musqueam people. (Photo credits by PintsizedPioneer)

Jericho Beach is just a bike ride away from UBC (University of British Columbia) Vancouver.
It is a focal point of life and activity. Located close to shops and eateries,
it would be the perfect place for a student to exercise, study, or maybe just watch the clouds envelop
the mountains. It was warm, breezy, and though not off the beaten path - Very scenic.

Food in this city is amazing. There is heavy influence from the East, which is no surprise since the Asian
demographic is so prevalent. This was taken at Legendary Noodle on 1074 Denamn St. Vancouver.
Homemade noodles are just so tasty! (Photo credits by PintsizedPioneer)

On top of Grouse Mountain, there is so much to see and do. Attractions include eco-tours, lumberjack spectacles,
some movies, a raptor show, a bear enclosure, and native inspired wood carvings throughout the
whole park. In the winter, it is a major snow sport destination too!

To get up the mountain, a gondola is required. On the way back down, I swear I was the only one speaking English.
Vancouver is such an international city. I've been told that over half the population have a first language other
than English. The gondola ride alone was wonderful. (Photo credits by PintsizedPioneer)

I'm leaving Vancouver, BC soon! It's so sad, but hopefully I'll return. For now, I think I am going to a night market/food truck festival (part 2) in North Vancouver. It should be fun and very delicious. Can't wait!
